- 1/2 cup (120 ml) popcorn kernels
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) vegetable oil

Instructions
- Pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil into a large, heavy-bottomed pot.
- Place the pot over medium heat.
- Add 3 or 4 popcorn kernels to the pot.
- Cover the pot with a lid and wait for the test kernels to pop.
- Once the test kernels pop, remove them from the pot.
- Add 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels to the pot.
- Cover the pot again, leaving the lid slightly ajar for steam to escape.
- Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning.
- Continue shaking until the popping slows to a few seconds between pops.
- Remove the pot from heat once popping stops almost completely.
- Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl.
- Season the popcorn with salt to taste.
- Toss the popcorn to distribute the salt evenly.
- Serve immediately for best taste.
