Delicious homemade dragon rolls bursting with flavor, combining shrimp, cucumber, avocado, and sushi rice, all wrapped in nori for a delightful sushi experience.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sushi rice
- 4 sheets nori
- 1 cucumber, sliced into thin strips
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cup cooked shrimp or crab meat
- 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Rinse sushi rice under cold water until clear.
- Cook according to package instructions and season with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt while warm.
- Prepare fillings: slice cucumber and avocado into strips and set aside.
- Lay a bamboo mat covered with plastic wrap on your workspace. Place a nori sheet shiny side down.
- Spread about 1 cup of sushi rice over two-thirds of the nori sheet. Wet your hands to avoid sticking.
- Add shrimp or crab, cucumber, and avocado along the center of the rice-covered nori. Drizzle with sriracha.
- Roll tightly using the bamboo mat, applying gentle pressure to form a cylindrical shape.
- Slice into eight pieces with a sharp knife dipped in water.
Notes
Wetting your hands prevents sticking and makes shaping easier. Feel free to customize your rolls with additional ingredients like carrots or bell peppers.
