Description

A tender and juicy beef tenderloin roast infused with an exquisite herb butter, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 (4-5 lb) beef tenderloin roast, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the herb butter by mixing the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, Dijon mustard, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Set this mixture aside for later use.
  2. Rub the beef with olive oil, then generously season it with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chopped rosemary, and thyme.
  3. Place the seasoned beef tenderloin in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven at 450°F (230°C) for about 35 minutes, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  4. Once cooked, remove the beef from the oven and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Slice the roast, serve with the herb butter, and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Let the beef tenderloin sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before seasoning for even cooking. Wrap the exposed ends of the tenderloin with aluminum foil to prevent them from overcooking.
