Description

A delightful dessert that layers chocolate cake, cheesecake filling, and chocolate pudding for an indulgent experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate cake (baked and crumbled)
  • 1 package cream cheese (softened, 8 oz)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 container whipped topping (Cool Whip, thawed, 8 oz)
  • 2 cups chocolate pudding
  • 1 cup chocolate sauce or ganache
  • Chocolate truffles or chocolate balls (for garnish)
  • Chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Layer: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, blending until creamy. Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the mixture.
  2. Layer the Trifle: Select a glass trifle dish or individual serving cups. Start by adding a layer of crumbled chocolate cake to the bottom. Follow this with a layer of the cheesecake mixture.
  3. Repeat the Layers: Pour a layer of chocolate pudding over the cheesecake, followed by another layer of chocolate cake. Continue alternating layers until you fill the dish, finishing with a layer of pudding or cheesecake on top.
  4. Garnish and Chill: Drizzle chocolate sauce over the top layer, sprinkle chocolate shavings, and add chocolate truffles for garnish. Refrigerate for at least 120 minutes.

Notes

Consider using cold ingredients for the pudding and whipped topping. Prepare a day in advance for enhanced flavors.
