Ingredients
- 1 box of angel food cake mix
- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
- 1 cup chopped strawberries or other fruit (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to angel food cake mix package instructions.
- Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions and bake in an ungreased tube pan.
- Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Fold in the crushed pineapple (with juice) and whipped topping until well combined.
- Slice the cooled angel food cake horizontally to create layers.
- Spread the pineapple mixture generously between the layers and on top of the cake.
- If desired, add chopped strawberries or other fruits on top for decoration.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
