Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) ground beef (450 grams)
- 2 medium zucchinis, sliced
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil (15 milliliters)
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce (30 milliliters)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) hoisin sauce (15 milliliters)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ginger, grated (5 grams)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) cornstarch (8 grams)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) water (60 milliliters)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame seeds (9 grams)
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the cooked beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced yellow onion and red bell pepper.
- Stir-fry the vegetables until they begin to soften, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and stir for 1 minute.
- Add the sliced zucchini to the skillet and continue to stir-fry for another 3 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water until smooth.
- Add the cooked beef back into the skillet with the vegetables.
- Pour the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch mixture over the beef and vegetables.
- Stir well to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds over the stir-fry.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
