Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) ground beef (450 grams)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 medium zucchinis, sliced
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounce (411 g) s or 411 grams)
- 1 cup (240 ml) shredded cheddar cheese (115 grams)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried basil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- 1 cup (240 ml) cooked rice (185 grams)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet.
- Sauté the onion and garlic until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
- Stir in the oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the sliced zucchinis to the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes.
- Pour the can of diced tomatoes into the skillet and stir well.
- Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked rice until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
