A comforting and nutritious dish of ground turkey combined with tender potatoes, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground turkey
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Crumble the ground turkey into the skillet. Cook for about 7 to 10 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it’s browned.
- Sprinkle in the cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine.
- Stir in the diced potatoes, cover the skillet, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender, approximately 15 minutes.
- Gently add the frozen peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes until warmed through.
- If desired, garnish with chopped cilantro before serving. Serve warm in bowls.
Notes
For a twist, try adding chili powder or thyme to enhance the flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
