Description

A comforting and nutritious dish of ground turkey combined with tender potatoes, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Crumble the ground turkey into the skillet. Cook for about 7 to 10 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it’s browned.
  5. Sprinkle in the cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine.
  6. Stir in the diced potatoes, cover the skillet, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender, approximately 15 minutes.
  7. Gently add the frozen peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes until warmed through.
  8. If desired, garnish with chopped cilantro before serving. Serve warm in bowls.

Notes

For a twist, try adding chili powder or thyme to enhance the flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
