A comforting dish featuring lean ground beef, mushrooms, and creamy sour cream served over egg noodles.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz egg noodles (or pasta of choice)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced onions and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant and translucent.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until mushrooms are soft.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well to combine.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring until smooth and bubbling.
- Reduce heat to low and gently mix in sour cream until fully incorporated.
- Simmer for about five minutes until thickened.
- Toss cooked pasta into the sauce or serve on individual plates.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For a healthier option, use lean ground beef which produces less grease. Feel free to switch up the pasta shape based on what you have.
