Description

A quick and hearty dish featuring ground beef and broccoli, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
  • Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef, cooking until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until onion softens.
  4. Mix in the broccoli florets, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth. If using cornstarch, make a slurry with water and stir it in.
  5. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until broccoli is tender and sauce has thickened.
  6. Stir in sesame oil and grated ginger, adjusting seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Serve over cooked rice or quinoa.

Notes

Customize with different vegetables or adjust sauces to taste.
