Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
- Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef, cooking until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until onion softens.
- Mix in the broccoli florets, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth. If using cornstarch, make a slurry with water and stir it in.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes until broccoli is tender and sauce has thickened.
- Stir in sesame oil and grated ginger, adjusting seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve over cooked rice or quinoa.
