Ingredients
- 450g lean ground beef
- 30g butter
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced
- 230g brown mushrooms, minced or chopped
- 30g ketchup
- 15g Worcestershire sauce
- 3g Kosher salt
- 3g ground black pepper
- 8g cornstarch
- 240ml beef broth
- 225g provolone cheese, chopped or shredded
- 6 brioche hamburger buns, buttered and toasted
Instructions
- Heat your skillet over medium-high heat. Add the lean ground beef, allowing it to brown undisturbed for about a minute.
- Once browned, remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same pan, melt the butter, then add the diced onions, diced green bell pepper, and minced mushrooms. Sauté until the vegetables are browned and tender.
- In a separate bowl, mix the beef broth, cornstarch, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Kosher salt, and ground black pepper to form a sauce.
- Pour this sauce mixture into the skillet with the vegetables and allow it to simmer for about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Return the browned beef to the skillet and stir in the provolone cheese until melted and well combined.
- Prepare the brioche buns by buttering and toasting them until they achieve a golden, crispy exterior.
- Fill each bun generously with the beef mixture and serve immediately.
