Description

A comforting and nostalgic dish featuring crispy chicken pieces coated in a sweet and savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2-3 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Toss chicken pieces with cornstarch until well coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to the same skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider double-coating the chicken with cornstarch. Serve with rice for a complete meal.
