Description

Garbage Bread is a versatile dish filled with gooey cheese, savory meats, and fresh vegetables, perfect for weeknight meals or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup cooked sausage crumbles
  • 1/4 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 egg wash (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  3. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving the edges bare for sealing.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella generously over the sauce.
  5. Evenly distribute pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, and onions over the cheese.
  6. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top of the fillings.
  7. Roll the dough tightly, sealing the seams as you go.
  8. Place the seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the surface with egg wash if desired.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use room-temperature dough for easier rolling, and drain excess moisture from vegetables and meats to prevent sogginess.
