Description

A comforting side dish that combines the rich flavors of French onion soup and beef broth with long grain rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups long grain rice, uncooked
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can of beef broth
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can of French onion soup
  • 1 stick of cold butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Spread the uncooked rice evenly in an 8×8-inch pan.
  3. Pour the beef broth over the rice.
  4. Next, pour in the French onion soup, ensuring an even coating.
  5. Slice the cold butter into pats and layer it evenly over the mixture.
  6. Cover the dish with tin foil and place it in the preheated oven.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Uncover the dish and return it to the oven for an additional 25 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For richer flavor, use high-quality beef broth. Add shredded cheese before baking for a creamier texture.
