Description

A delightful burger featuring caramelized onions, creamy sauce, and juicy beef patties, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Tony Chachere’s or your preferred Creole seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • 12 oz 80/20 ground beef
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp relish
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Tony Chachere’s
  • Cayenne pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by caramelizing the onion. Drizzle the olive oil and Worcestershire sauce over onion slices. Sprinkle with brown sugar and some of your Creole seasoning. Cook on medium-low heat for about 10 minutes on each side until the onions are browned and tender. Set aside once done.
  2. For the patties, season the ground beef with Tony Chachere’s or your choice of Creole seasoning. Form the mixture into evenly shaped patties. Sear the patties in a hot pan for 2-3 minutes on each side. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty to melt.
  3. Prepare the sauce by mixing together the mayonnaise, relish, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and additional seasoning in a bowl.
  4. To assemble your burger, place a caramelized onion round on the bottom, followed by a cheese-topped patty. Add a generous spoon of the sauce before topping it with another onion round.
  5. Serve immediately, optionally with extra sauce for dipping.

Notes

Check the doneness of the patties using a meat thermometer. Aim for an internal temperature of 160°F for ground beef.
