Description

Discover the savory delight of Florida Shrimp Pie with our step-by-step guide. Learn tips for a perfect crust and flavorful shrimp filling that will wow your taste buds!

Ingredients

  • 1 froz en deep-dish pie crust from a 12 oz (340 g) package, 2-count Pillsburyâ„¢ Deep Dish Pie Crusts
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) chive-and-onion cream cheese spread from an 8 oz (227 g) container
  • 4 large eggs
  • 12 oz (340 g) froz en cooked medium shrimp thawed, deveined, peeled, and coarsely chopped (tails removed)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) shredded pepper Jack cheese approximately 2 oz (57 g)

Instructions

  1. Place a baking sheet on the middle oven rack. Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Take one pie crust from its packaging and let it defrost at room temperature for about 10 to 20 minutes. Poke the bottom and sides of the crust with a fork to stop air bubbles from forming during baking. Put the crust on the warmed baking sheet and bake for 9 to 11 minutes until it turns a light golden color. Take it out of the oven and let it cool slightly.
  2. In a medium bowl, use a whisk or electric mixer to blend the chive-and-onion cream cheese until it is smooth. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each to ensure a uniform mixture. Gently incorporate the chopped shrimp and shredded pepper Jack cheese, stirring until everything is evenly mixed.
  3. Pour the mixed filling into the pre-baked pie crust, spreading it out evenly to ensure it bakes uniformly.
  4. Set the prepared pie on the baking sheet and place it back in the oven. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 to 35 minutes until the center is set and the top is lightly browned.
  5. After baking, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool at room temperature for 15 minutes before cutting. This cooling time helps the filling to solidify for cleaner slices. Serve while warm.
