Description
Delightful sliders featuring crispy fish filets, melty cheese, and a zesty homemade tartar sauce, perfect for gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 9-12 pieces of breaded fish burgers (or fish filets)
- 12 slider buns (or dinner rolls)
- 2 tablespoons of melted butter
- 12 slices of American or cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup of mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup of sweet relish (or finely minced pickles)
- 1/2 tablespoon of dried dill
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lining two sheet pans with parchment paper or foil will simplify clean-up.
- Bake the breaded fish burgers or filets according to package instructions on one sheet pan.
- While the fish bakes, prepare the tartar sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, relish, lemon juice, and dill until well combined. Refrigerate for a quick chill.
- Place slider buns on the second sheet pan. Brush the tops with melted butter and warm them in the oven for about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the buns from the oven, carefully slice them, and set the top pieces aside.
- To assemble sliders, layer the sliced cheese on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add the cooked fish on top of the cheese.
- Spread the chilled tartar sauce evenly on the fish.
- Cap each slider with the top bun.
- Slice the sliders into halves or quarters and serve immediately.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs in the tartar sauce or experimenting with different cheeses.
