Description

A deliciously tender filet mignon topped with flavorful garlic herb butter, perfect for an unforgettable dining experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 filet mignon steaks (6-8 ounces each)
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic herb butter by mixing softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and thyme in a bowl until well combined. Form into a log and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  2. Take the filet mignon out of the refrigerator and season generously with Kosher salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot and shimmering.
  4. Carefully place the filet mignon into the skillet and sear each side for approximately 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.
  5. Add dollops of garlic herb butter on top of each steak in the final minute of cooking.
  6. Remove the filets from the heat and let them rest under foil for five minutes before serving.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, consider adding Worcestershire sauce when seasoning. Avoid overcrowding the skillet to achieve a perfect sear.
