Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) (450 grams) fresh or frozen edamame in pods
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) (30 milliliters) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams) sea salt

Instructions

  1. If using frozen edamame, thaw them by placing in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes and then drain well.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat.
  3. Add the edamame pods to the boiling water.
  4. Cook the edamame for 4-5 minutes until they are bright green and tender.
  5. Drain the edamame in a colander and let them cool slightly.
  6. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  7. Add the drained edamame to the skillet.
  8. Toss the edamame in the skillet for 2-3 minutes to coat them with the olive oil.
  9. Sprinkle the sea salt over the edamame while tossing.
  10. Remove the skillet from heat and transfer edamame to a serving bowl.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a more flavorful dish, consider using garlic-infused olive oil instead of regular olive oil.
  • Enhance the taste by trying out seasonings like garlic powder, smoked paprika, or chili flakes.
  • Add a burst of freshness by drizzling some lemon juice over the cooked edamame before serving.
