Description

Discover how to make a delicious Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak with this easy recipe. Learn the steps to create a savory and satisfying meal for your family.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef (907 g)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (Italian seasoned) (60 g)
  • 1/4 cup milk (60 ml)
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix (28 g)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30 g)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (30 ml)
  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup (595 g)
  • 3/4 cup water (180 ml)
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet dry au jus mix (28 g)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly blend the lean ground beef, Italian seasoned bread crumbs, milk, and the dry onion soup mix; form 8 individual patties.
  2. Warm the vegetable oil in a big frying pan over medium-high heat. Lightly coat the patties with all-purpose flour, then sear them quickly on each side in the heated skillet.
  3. Layer the seared patties in the slow cooker, stacking them in a pyramid-like fashion.
  4. In a separate medium-sized bowl, combine the condensed cream of chicken soup, water, and the dry au jus mix; drizzle this mixture over the arranged beef patties.
  5. Set the slow cooker to Low and let it cook until the beef is thoroughly cooked, approximately 4 to 5 hours.

Notes

  • Substitute lean ground turkey for beef for a healthier option.
  • Experiment with different varieties of condensed soup like cream of mushroom or cream of celery for added flavor.
  • Thicken the sauce by combining cornstarch with water before adding it to the slow cooker.
