Description

A simple and flavorful meatball recipe perfect for cozy dinners with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated onion (or finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Olive oil (if pan-frying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Combine the breadcrumbs and milk for the breadcrumb mixture in a large bowl. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the egg, minced garlic, grated onion, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper until blended smoothly.
  4. Gently mix in the ground beef, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Form the mixture into 1 ½-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake the meatballs in the oven for 18-20 minutes until browned and cooked through or pan-sear them in a skillet with olive oil for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving and enjoy!

Notes

For additional flavor, consider simmering the meatballs in marinara sauce for an extra 10 minutes before serving.
