An easy layered taco bake brings together ground beef, taco seasoning, cheese, and tortillas into a delicious and comforting dish.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- ¾ cup water
- ½ cup salsa con queso
- 3 soft 8-inch flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess grease.
- Return beef to skillet and add taco seasoning and water, stirring to combine. Simmer as directed on the seasoning packet.
- Mix in salsa con queso until melted.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray an 8-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
- Layer one tortilla, â…“ taco filling, and â…“ cheese in the pan. Repeat layers, finishing with the last tortilla, taco filling, and cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For variations, consider adding black beans, corn, or swapping salsa con queso for sour cream. Customize with vegetables like bell peppers for added nutrition.
