Description

A delightful start to your day with layers of fluffy pancakes, savory sausage, and melty cheese, all topped with a drizzle of maple syrup.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1â…“ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 2½ tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 8 slices cooked bacon (optional)
  • 4 slices American or cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Divide the ground sausage into 4 equal parts and form them into round patties. Cook the sausage patties in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 3 minutes on each side until cooked through, then set aside.
  2. If using bacon, cook it in the same skillet until crispy, then set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Pour in ÂĽ of the egg mixture and cook until set like an omelet, then fold and set aside. Repeat for the remaining mixture.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, milk, melted butter, eggs, baking powder, and salt to make a smooth pancake batter.
  6. Heat another skillet over medium heat and cook pancakes for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. To assemble each sandwich, place a pancake on a plate, add a slice of cheese, a sausage patty, an omelet square, bacon (if using), and top with another pancake. Serve warm with syrup.

Notes

For a richer flavor, cook bacon alongside the sausage and drizzle extra maple syrup for sweetness.
