Description
A simple yet decadent chocolate dessert featuring an Oreo cookie base and smooth chocolate ganache.
Ingredients
- 20 Oreo cookies, crushed (about 1½ cups)
- 6 tablespoons of butter, melted
- 12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate (or dark chocolate)
- 12 ounces of heavy cream
Instructions
- Prepare the Oreo base: In a bowl, mix crushed Oreos with melted butter until fully combined.
- Press into the dish: Evenly spread the Oreo mixture into the bottom of an 8-inch or 9-inch round cake pan, pressing down tightly.
- Combine chocolate and cream: Chop the chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until it simmers. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Stir to combine: Whisk the mixture until smooth and glossy. Pour the ganache over the Oreo crust, smoothing out the top with a spatula.
- Chill and set: Refrigerate the dessert for at least 120 minutes or until the ganache sets completely.
Notes
For a stronger chocolate flavor, consider using dark chocolate instead of semisweet.
