Description

A delightful combination of rich chocolate flavor and tangy sourdough, perfect for cozy moments and sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the active sourdough starter and warm water. Mix well.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together bread flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt until combined.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a cohesive and slightly sticky dough forms.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Let it rise for another hour.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  10. Allow cooling completely before slicing.

Notes

For best results, ensure your sourdough starter is active. Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing to maintain texture.
