Description

Enjoy delicious and tender deer chops seared to perfection with rich flavors and simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 deer chops
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the deer chops with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the deer chops and sear on both sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the chops and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
  6. Add the mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  8. Return the deer chops to the skillet, cover, and cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the chops are cooked to your liking.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

Allow chops to come to room temperature before cooking for even results. Experiment with mushroom varieties for different flavors.
