Ingredients

  • 2-3 cup (600 ml) s fresh cucumbers, sliced thin
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) creamy ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) crispy beef bacon, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) fresh green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried dill weed
  • Salt and fresh black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cucumbers and cut them into thin slices, aiming for approximately ¼ inch thickness.
  2. Finely chop the green onions. If the bacon hasn’t been cooked yet, fry it until it’s crispy and then crumble it into small pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cucumber slices, shredded cheddar, bacon bits, and chopped green onions. Stir gently to mix everything evenly.
  4. Drizzle the ranch dressing over the cucumber mixture. Add garlic powder, dried dill, and a small amount of salt and pepper. Be cautious with the salt as the bacon and cheese already contribute a lot of flavor.
  5. Carefully mix the ingredients until the cucumbers are well-coated with the dressing and the flavors are blended together. Ensure each piece is covered with the creamy dressing.
  6. For enhanced taste, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Serve cold and add extra bacon bits or green onions on top for a touch of elegance if desired.

Notes

  • Slice cucumbers uniformly for even dressing absorption and consistent texture.
  • Crumble crispy beef bacon into small pieces to evenly distribute the smoky flavor.
  • Incorporate garlic powder and dried dill into the ranch dressing for better flavor blending.
