Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) lean ground beef
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) bold taco seasoning
- 6 large eggs
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) granulated garlic
- 1 cup (113 g) shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly coat a 9-inch pie dish with oil or non-stick spray.
- Crumble the ground beef into a 10-inch skillet and heat over medium. Add the bold taco seasoning on top. Stir and cook the beef in the heated skillet until it is browned and breaks apart easily, which should take about 5 to 7 minutes. Once cooked, spread the meat evenly at the bottom of the greased pie dish.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, heavy cream, and granulated garlic until the mixture is smooth and uniform. Pour this egg mixture over the beef in the pie dish.
- Evenly distribute the shredded Cheddar cheese on top of the egg mixture.
- Place the dish in the center of the oven and bake until the egg layer is firm and the cheese has melted, approximately 30 minutes. Take it out of the oven and allow it to cool on a rack for roughly 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier flavor, try using pepper jack cheese instead of Cheddar.
- Add diced bell peppers or onions to the ground beef for extra flavor and texture.
- Make it more filling by adding a layer of cooked and crumbled bacon on top before pouring in the egg mixture.
