Description

A comforting and flavorful slow-cooked dish featuring tender venison cube steaks, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 venison cube steaks (about 1.5 pounds)
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 ½ cups beef bone broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp herb and garlic seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Place the venison steaks, diced onion, and sliced mushrooms in the crock pot.
  2. Whisk together beef bone broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Pour this mixture over the steaks.
  3. Mix cornstarch with water and stir it into the mixture one hour before serving to thicken the sauce.
  4. Cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6–8 hours until the venison is tender.
  5. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or noodles.

Notes

Searing the steaks before cooking can enhance the flavor. Consider marinating the venison overnight for additional flavor.
