Description

Transform a tough cut of venison into a tender, mouthwatering dish with this slow-cooked roast, featuring ranch dressing mix, au jus gravy mix, and pepperoncini.

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds venison roast
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (or 3 tablespoons homemade)
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 jar (12 oz) pepperoncini, with liquid
  • 8 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces

Instructions

  1. Place the venison roast in your crock pot.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the meat.
  3. Pour the full jar of pepperoncini, including the liquid, over the roast.
  4. Add the pieces of butter on top of the roast.
  5. Cover the crock pot and set it to cook on LOW for 360–480 minutes or HIGH for 240–300 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, shred the meat, strain the juices, and serve with drippings.

Notes

For added flavor, consider giving the meat a quick sear before placing it in the Crock Pot. Adjust the butter based on the leanness of your venison cut.
