Description

Delightful crispy chicken wonton tacos filled with marinated chicken and crunchy coleslaw, perfect for shared meals.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (divided)
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cups coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro


Instructions

  1. Combine the sliced chicken with teriyaki sauce, 1/2 tbsp sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Allow it to marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes or until fully cooked.
  3. Toss the coleslaw mix, sliced green onions, rice vinegar, honey, and remaining sesame oil together in a separate bowl until well combined.
  4. Heat oil in a small pan over medium heat. Lightly fry the wonton wrappers for 20-30 seconds on each side until golden and crispy.
  5. Fill each crispy wonton wrapper with cooked chicken and the prepared coleslaw mix. Drizzle with sweet chili sauce, then garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.
  6. Serve immediately, enjoying the crunchy and flavorful experience.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a dash of sesame oil to the cooked chicken right before filling the wonton wrappers. Pair these tacos with a refreshing salad for a complete meal.
