Description

Deliciously crunchy and flavorful cauliflower bites, perfect as a guilt-free snack or appetizer, elevated with panko breadcrumbs and spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk (or buttermilk)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or vegetable oil)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Rinse the cauliflower under cold water to clean it thoroughly. Remove the outer leaves, trim the core, and cut the head into uniform florets.
  3. Set up two shallow bowls for the breading process: In the first bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. In the second bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until slightly frothy.
  4. Begin breading: Dip a cauliflower floret into the wet mixture, allowing excess to drip off, followed by the dry mixture.
  5. Place the breaded florets on the baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil to facilitate browning.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Allow the bites to cool slightly before serving.
