Juicy steak sliders topped with cowboy butter and caramelized onions, perfect for gatherings and weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless steak (ribeye, filet, or sirloin)
- Neutral oil (as needed)
- Kosher salt (to taste)
- Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
- 3 sweet onions (thinly sliced)
- 9 slider buns
- 3/4 pound sliced havarti cheese
- 1 stick unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1/2 lemon (zested and juiced)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon chives (minced)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (minced)
- Kosher salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat.
- Cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until desired doneness is reached.
- Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low and add sliced sweet onions. Cook until caramelized and golden brown for 15-20 minutes.
- Slice the rested steaks against the grain.
- Assemble the sliders by placing a portion of sliced steak on each slider bun, adding a slice of havarti cheese, a dollop of cowboy butter, and topping with the caramelized onions.
- Serve warm with your favorite sides.
