Description

Cottage cheese naan bread is a fluffy and nutritious alternative to traditional naan, perfect for soaking up curries and dips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup water (as needed)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • Chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the cottage cheese, yogurt, and olive oil or melted butter in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in another bowl.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Divide the rested dough into smaller balls and roll each into a flat, oval shape.
  7. Heat a skillet or tawa over medium-high heat.
  8. Cook each naan for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown, pressing gently to puff up.
  9. Brush with butter or oil and sprinkle with chopped cilantro if desired.
  10. Serve warm with your favorite curry or dip.

Notes

For the best results, ensure the skillet is hot enough before adding the naan to achieve perfect puffiness.
