Description
A creamy and indulgent chocolate mousse made with cottage cheese for a guilt-free treat packed with protein.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cottage cheese (4% milkfat, small curd preferred)
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-processed)
- 2–3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (optional)
Instructions
- Add one cup of cottage cheese into your blender or food processor.
- Incorporate the cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt.
- Blend until smooth and creamy, taste, and adjust sweetness if needed.
- If using, add chia seeds or chocolate protein powder and blend again.
- If too thick, add milk gradually until desired texture is reached.
- Transfer the mousse into a container and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set.
Notes
For optimal results, taste as you prepare to adjust sweetness. Letting chia seeds sit after blending can enhance thickness.
