Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- Mix the melted butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until well combined.
- Add in the egg and vanilla, stirring until smooth.
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Mix the granulated sugar with a bit more cinnamon and sprinkle over the batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool before cutting into squares and enjoy!

Let the melted butter cool slightly to prevent cooking the egg. Consider adding nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
