Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, letting it sit for about 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add warm milk mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl and cover it to rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a large rectangle.
- Mix cinnamon and brown sugar together, spreading it over the dough.
- Cut the dough into strips and stack them, then cut into star shapes.
- Place the stars in a greased pan, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle over the warm bread.
Notes
Use freshly activated yeast and make sure the butter is melted but not hot. Let the dough rise in a warm environment for best results.
