Delicious cinnamon apple fritters that bring the comforting flavors of fall to your table.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons of milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters and serve immediately.
