Description

Delicious churro cookies that capture the nostalgic flavors of cinnamon and sugar, bringing warmth and joy to your baking.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and coat in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
  7. Place the cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them out.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before enjoying.

Notes

Chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking for a firmer texture. Experiment with adding a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon-sugar coating for an extra twist.
