Description
Chopped cheeseburger biscuits combine the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with buttery biscuit dough, creating a comforting and nostalgic dish perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (8 count) tube Pillsbury biscuits
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, chopped
- Seasoning to taste (Montreal Steak seasoning works wonderfully)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease your chosen baking dish.
- Separate the biscuits in half and arrange the bottom halves in the dish. Set the top halves aside.
- Bake the bottom biscuit halves for about 5 minutes to give them a head start in the baking process.
- Sauté the chopped onion in a medium-sized pan over medium heat with a bit of oil for about 5 minutes, until they have softened.
- Add the ground beef to the pan, chopping and browning it thoroughly. Make sure to drain any excess grease.
- Season the beef mixture with salt, pepper, and Montreal Steak seasoning or other seasonings of choice for added flavor.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven, spread the beef mixture evenly over them.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef and then place the top halves of the biscuits directly on top.
- Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the tops of the biscuits are golden brown.
Notes
Experiment with additional toppings such as diced jalapeños, garlic powder, or paprika for extra flavor. Serve with a fresh green salad.
