Description

Delicious chocolate coconut bars with a rich creamy texture and crunchy toasted coconut, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fine graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt, separated
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease an 8″x8″ baking dish.
  2. Stir together the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture into the baking dish, pressing firmly to form an even layer.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the crust, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of salt across the top.
  6. Scatter the chocolate chips over the condensed milk, followed by the coconut flakes.
  7. Press the toppings gently into the condensed milk with a fork.
  8. Bake for 28-30 minutes until the coconut turns golden-brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and run a knife along the edges.
  10. Cool completely for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  11. Cut into 12 bars or 16 squares, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

For a crispy texture, consider toasting the coconut flakes before adding them on top.
