Delightful scones made with chocolate chips, peanut butter, and rolled oats, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or snacks.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the peanut butter, milk, and egg until smooth.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times.
- Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut it into wedges.
- Place the wedges on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a flaky texture, keep the butter cold and do not over-mix the dough.
