Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs venison steak
- ½ cup flour
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix flour and seasonings together in a bowl.
- Whisk eggs and milk together in a separate bowl.
- Pound steaks with a meat mallet until they reach half of their original thickness.
- Heat oil to 350–375 degrees in a heavy frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Dip each steak into the flour mixture, then into the egg mix, and back into the flour mix for a second coating.
- Carefully place each steak into the hot oil and fry for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
Notes
Allow the breaded steaks to sit for a few minutes before frying to help the coating adhere better. Experiment with spices to enhance flavor.
