Description

A comforting dish featuring tender, juicy venison steak coated in a flavorful, crispy crust, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs venison steak
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and seasonings together in a bowl.
  2. Whisk eggs and milk together in a separate bowl.
  3. Pound steaks with a meat mallet until they reach half of their original thickness.
  4. Heat oil to 350–375 degrees in a heavy frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Dip each steak into the flour mixture, then into the egg mix, and back into the flour mix for a second coating.
  6. Carefully place each steak into the hot oil and fry for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

Notes

Allow the breaded steaks to sit for a few minutes before frying to help the coating adhere better. Experiment with spices to enhance flavor.
