Description

Delicious cherry pie bites combine flaky crescent dough with creamy cherry-filled goodness, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-count)
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (approximately 21 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for glaze (optional)
  • 1-2 teaspoons milk for glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
  4. Place ½ teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture at the center of each triangle and top with 1-2 cherries.
  5. Fold the corners of the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal properly.
  6. Arrange the sealed bites on the baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Stir the powdered sugar and milk until smooth for an optional glaze. Drizzle over the bites once they cool slightly.

Notes

Pay attention to the dough; if it becomes too warm during handling, refrigerate it briefly to retain its shape while you work. Customize your filling by adding spices like cinnamon or almond extract for an additional flavor layer.
