Description
A comforting and easy-to-make cheesy ground beef and potato casserole that warms hearts and fills bellies.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (28 oz) bag frozen cubed potatoes with onions and peppers
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cheddar cheese soup
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of celery soup (or mushroom)
- 2+ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Brown the ground beef in a medium skillet, seasoning it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Transfer the cooked ground beef to a large mixing bowl.
- Add the frozen potatoes, both soups, and half of the shredded cheese; stir gently to combine.
- Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish, topping it with the remaining cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown. For extra crispiness, use the broiler for a couple of minutes.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding spices when browning the beef, or even breadcrumbs on top before baking.
