Description

A comforting and easy-to-make cheesy ground beef and potato casserole that warms hearts and fills bellies.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (28 oz) bag frozen cubed potatoes with onions and peppers
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of celery soup (or mushroom)
  • 2+ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a medium skillet, seasoning it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Transfer the cooked ground beef to a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the frozen potatoes, both soups, and half of the shredded cheese; stir gently to combine.
  5. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish, topping it with the remaining cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown. For extra crispiness, use the broiler for a couple of minutes.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding spices when browning the beef, or even breadcrumbs on top before baking.
