Description

Delightful cheeseburger sliders that bring comfort and connection, perfect for family gatherings or casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7 fat content)
  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
  • 6 oz medium cheddar (shredded)
  • 24 dinner rolls
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted, plus more to grease baking sheet)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter the bottom of a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium/high heat and add 1/2 Tbsp of olive oil. Add the finely diced onion and ground beef to the skillet, breaking up the beef.
  3. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder; sauté until cooked through. Remove from heat.
  4. Spoon off excess fat and stir in the mayonnaise.
  5. Cut the dinner rolls in half and place the bottom halves on the prepared baking sheet. Layer sliced cheese over the rolls, followed by the ground beef mixture, and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Place the top halves of the dinner rolls cut-side down over the layers. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the cheese melts and the tops are golden brown.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing cheeses or incorporating toppings like pickles or jalapeños. Ensure the beef doesn’t overcook to maintain juiciness.
