Ingredients

  • 2 cups beef, shredded (240g)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (18g)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (15ml)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (15ml)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (15g)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (2g)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 scallion, thinly sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Place the shredded carrots in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium heat until golden brown, then set aside to cool.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, and grated ginger.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the dressing and mix well.
  5. Pour the dressing over the shredded carrots and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Add the toasted sesame seeds and sliced scallion to the carrot mixture.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
