Description

Delightful and fluffy cinnamon rolls made effortlessly in a bread machine, topped with creamy cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tbsp melted or softened butter
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 3 3/4 cup bread flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Start your bread machine on the dough cycle. Combine warm water, warm milk, egg, melted or softened butter, white sugar, bread flour, instant yeast, and salt in the machine.
  2. As the dough cycle completes, lightly flour a clean surface and roll the dough into a large rectangle.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix softened butter with the cinnamon and sugar to create a buttery filling.
  4. Spread this filling generously over the rolled dough.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and cut into individual rolls.
  6. Place these rolls into a prepared baking dish, leaving space for expansion.
  7. Let the rolls rise in a warm location for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls bake, make the cream cheese frosting by combining cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a bowl until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls just before serving.

Notes

For best results, let rolls rise in a warm area and consider adding nuts or raisins for variation.
