Delightful and fluffy cinnamon rolls made effortlessly in a bread machine, topped with creamy cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- 6 tbsp melted or softened butter
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 3 3/4 cup bread flour (or all-purpose flour)
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Start your bread machine on the dough cycle. Combine warm water, warm milk, egg, melted or softened butter, white sugar, bread flour, instant yeast, and salt in the machine.
- As the dough cycle completes, lightly flour a clean surface and roll the dough into a large rectangle.
- In a separate bowl, mix softened butter with the cinnamon and sugar to create a buttery filling.
- Spread this filling generously over the rolled dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and cut into individual rolls.
- Place these rolls into a prepared baking dish, leaving space for expansion.
- Let the rolls rise in a warm location for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the rolls bake, make the cream cheese frosting by combining cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls just before serving.
Notes
For best results, let rolls rise in a warm area and consider adding nuts or raisins for variation.
