Description

A rich and flavorful boiling crab sauce that elevates any seafood dish with its perfect blend of spices and tanginess.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 heads garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 ½ tablespoons paprika
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 ½ tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Louisiana hot sauce
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Start by ensuring all ingredients are prepped and ready to go. Mince the garlic finely and gather all spices into a readily accessible location.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a large pot over medium-low heat.
  3. Once the butter has melted completely, reduce the flame to its lowest setting. Add the minced garlic along with Old Bay seasoning, paprika, Cajun seasoning, sugar, cayenne pepper, chili powder, and lemon pepper to the pot. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Continuously stir the mixture to ensure even distribution.
  5. Slowly pour in the Louisiana hot sauce, followed by fresh lemon juice. Stir again to meld all the elements seamlessly.
  6. Gradually increase the flame slightly to bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Allow it to cook for approximately five minutes.
  7. Once simmered, turn off the heat and carefully remove the pot from the burner. Let the sauce cool down before serving or storing. Adjust seasonings to taste.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor. Adjust seasonings to your liking, and taste throughout the cooking process for balance.
