Description

Indulge in the irresistible goodness of homemade blueberry crisp with our easy-to-follow recipe. Learn how to make a delicious dessert that everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • – 5 cups (1.2 kg) blueberries fresh or frozen
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) granulated sugar
  • – 3 tablespoons (45 ml) all-purpose flour
  • – 1 lemon
  • – 1/4 cup (60 g) vegetable oil, softened
  • – 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar
  • – 1/4 cup (30 g) all-purpose flour
  • – 3/4 cup (75 g) oats regular or quick
  • – 1/2 cup (50 g) sliced almonds optional
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to a temperature of 375°F to warm it up.
  2. Zest the lemon and extract the juice from one half.
  3. Mix the blueberries with granulated sugar, lemon zest, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour. Spread them evenly in a 2-quart baking dish.
  4. Using a fork, blend the vegetable oil, brown sugar, oats, remaining flour, sliced almonds if desired, and cinnamon until the mixture forms crumbs. Distribute this over the blueberries.
  5. Place the dish in the oven and cook for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is a golden color and the blueberries are bubbling. Allow it to cool a bit and enjoy it warm.

Notes

  • Use a blend of whole wheat flour and oats for a healthier topping option.
  • Enhance the blueberry filling by adding a pinch of nutmeg or a dash of vanilla extract.
  • Allow the blueberry crisp to rest briefly after baking to let the flavors meld before serving.
